Colin Dyer, Chief Executive Officer
WWRE
Responsibilities - Colin Dyer is the Chief Executive Officer
for the WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE), the premier B2B exchange
for retailers and suppliers in all of their commercial interactions.
Colin was appointed CEO in September 2000, and has since led the
organization on a deliberate path of enabling participating retailers
and suppliers to simplify, rationalize and automate supply chain
processes, thereby eliminating inefficiencies in the supply chain.
As CEO, Colin directs the organization's goals and vision to ensure
the success of the Exchange, as well as, continued growth through
increased membership.
Past Experience - Colin joined the WWRE
from Courtaulds Textiles PLC, an international clothing and fabric
company, where he served as the company's chief executive from 1996
until Sara Lee Corp. purchased the company in May 2000. As chief
executive, Colin led a broad reorganization program and a series
of strategic acquisitions for the company. Operating in 17 countries
and employing 22,000 people, Courtalds had 1999 sales of U.S. $1.3
billion. Colin joined the organization in 1982 as managing director
of retail chains, and in 1987 he served as division director for
private-label products. In 1990, he moved to divisional director
responsible for clothing business.
Education - Colin holds a master's of business
administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and earned his
bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Imperial College
in London. He serves on the Board of Directors of Northern Foods,
a major supplier to British retailers.
Robert Heaton, Chief Financial Officer
WWRE
Responsibilities - Robert Heaton is the Chief Financial Officer
for the WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE), the premier B2B exchange
for retailers and suppliers in all of their commercial interactions.
CFO of the WWRE since October 2000, Robert joined the Exchange as
a member consultant and was closely involved with the financial
aspects of establishing the WWRE.
In his role as CFO, Robert is responsible for all
aspects of the organization's financial management, including financial
planning, payroll, accounting, budget, treasury and tax. Under his
direction, Robert has managed to keep the WWRE operating under budget,
while members' savings continue to surpass goals.
Past Experience - Robert brings over 15
years of financial leadership to his role at the WWRE. Previously,
Robert was a senior vice president and controller at U.S. Office
Products in Washington, DC. He also spent 13 years at Target Corporation
in finance and operations, ultimately serving as the vice president
of financial planning and analysis.
Education - Robert holds a bachelor's degree
in accounting and Chinese and a master's of business administration
from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Ramana Palepu, Chief Technology Officer
WWRE
Responsibilities - Ramana Palepu has been with the WordWide
Retail Exchange (WWRE) since July 2001. He is responsible for Information
Technology strategy, architecture, development, integration, infrastructure
operations, customer service and member implementation of the global
B2B exchange. Ramana manages technology, systems, applications,
IT security and service providers in delivering highly reliable,
secure, scalable, 7X24X365 mission critical industry trade exchange.
Past Experience - With more than 22 years
of Information technology experience, Ramana developed and executed
large scale information strategies and has played a key role in
several IT systems and operational excellence initiatives. This
is especially true in the financial services and telecommunications
industries. Ramana has served in the position of Vice President,
IT, Operations and customer Service at Miradiant Global Network
Inc., a JP Morgan, Lehman startup where he was responsible for the
development of a global Internet based B2B invoice payment and settlement
system. Prior to that, for over 20 years, Ramana was with Society
for WorldWide Interbank Financial Telecommunications Inc. (SWIFT),
where he held several senior managerial positions in IT development,
strategy, architecture and operations of the world's premier secure
interbank financial telecommunications and cross border high value
payments network.
Education - Ramana holds an MBA in Financial
management from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and a BS
degree in Electronics and Telecommunications.
Sally Herbert, Chief
Commercial Officer
WWRE
Responsibilities - Sally A. Herbert is the chief commercial
officer for the WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE). In this role
since April 2003, Sally has global responsibility for the consistent
delivery of product and service to the members of the exchange.
In addition to managing the development of technology, she facilitates
member relationships from sales to product implementation and ongoing
support through the application of value-added services. Sally
joined the Exchange in November 2001, as a Member Engagement Director,
responsible for establishing member adoption forecasts and reporting
tools to ensure proper alignment and availability of WWRE resources
required to meet member needs.
Past Experience - Prior to the WWRE, Sally worked for the Internet
Capital Group (ICG), a B2B Internet holding company, where she
was responsible for identifying and fostering collaboration, alliances,
and customer relationships. Before ICG, Sally was with IBM, where
she held several sales/business development and software development
management positions in the e-commerce software solutions arena.
Prior to IBM, she launched a real-time enterprise information system,
as well as led a sales engineering team for MCI Worldcom.
Until 1995, Sally simultaneously served as a captain in the U.S.
Air Force Reserve, leading logistics and personnel teams responsible
for support of real-world contingencies.
Education - Sally Herbert holds a BSBA in Marketing and an MBA
in Information Systems from the University of Colorado.
